PLANET EARTH — June 12 2026, The Worldwide Tic Tac Toe Championship is about to launch on FRVR, one of the world's largest instant gaming networks, putting the game (and your name if you top the global leaderboard) in front of over 100 million players. The official release date is set for Juneteenth (June 19th), marking the occasion as a celebration of Black creativity and independence on one of the most significant days in American history.
The Championship is live and playable right now at HighScoreGameArcade.com. No app. No install. Just a phone or laptop and the audacity to think you're good at Tic Tac Toe.
“It’s 100% fair. It’s global. It’s sanctioned by the Worldwide High Score League. And it’s ridiculous, but it’s real,” said King Supernuts, a.k.a. Victor Varnado, award-winning comedian, game designer, and media technologist behind the project.
Tic Tac Toe is, technically, a solved game. Two perfect players will always draw. The Worldwide High Score League exploits this. The Championship format (branded "XO Game" on the High Score Game Arcade site) is engineered to destroy mastery, with features such as:
Timed rounds
Expanding boards (3×3, 4×4, and 5×5)
Real-time global rankings
...and enough public pressure to make even the most seasoned player nervously question a hasty X placement.
Every move updates a live leaderboard. If your name rises, the world sees it. If you're the best in the world that day, you get a prize.
As King Supernuts put it: "Of course it's a gateway. Every time someone taps an X on their phone, they are one step closer to joining The Worldwide High Score League. We accept all combatants, no console required."
The Championship unfolds as an eight-week global competition, inviting players from around the world to compete daily on the High Score Game Arcade platform. Each day brings a new opportunity to achieve the top score and earn recognition as a Daily Champion – but single-day wins are just one path to glory.
Performance is tracked across the full eight-week season, highlighting not just single-day wins but ongoing consistency, high scores, and repeated appearances on the global leaderboard. Weekly spotlights recognize standout players across multiple categories, celebrating those who demonstrate exceptional skill, consistency, and dedication.
As the season progresses, players build their standing and reputation, creating an evolving global race to the top. It all culminates in a final championship moment where the season's top performers are recognized and crowned the best players in the world based on their performance over the full eight-week event.
With new chances to compete every day and multiple paths to recognition, the Worldwide Tic Tac Toe Championship transforms a daily competition of a universally beloved childhood game into an ongoing global event where anyone can rise, return, and compete for the top spot.
